The PTO is selling delicious Humboldt Bay Coffee Company Organic French Dark Roast Coffee (whole bean, regular and decaf) to help raise funds for our playground. It's perfect for sipping on a Sunday morning or buying for gifts. Only $12.50 per bag. C'est magnifique!!

The sunflowers in our garden are huge! Our garden is a relaxing place to read a book while watching the busy bees.

Bill Funkhouser, one of the Create Humboldt grant coordinators, was talking to 4th and 5th grade students about art. The students had amazing insights about the image he selected. Our students are looking forward to learning more about art and creating their own masterpiece.

Today Mr. Rudolph began hosting an alternative recess for the 4th and 5th grade lunch recess. It's an alternative to regular recess for students that wish to have a quieter environment.

Our Back to School Night was fabulous! Thank you all for attending this evening. It's always wonderful to see parents and guardians at events. Our staff did an outstanding job with their presentations. Great start to the new school year!

Arcata School District Superintendent, Luke Biesecker, is enjoying art created by Mrs. Kinyon's kindergarten class. Our school has many fabulous artists and we all enjoy their creativity throughout our school and now at the District Office.

Arcata Elementary will be hosting a Special Beginnings playgroup on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 11:30 am starting on September 25th. Special Beginnings is a Humboldt County Office of Education program for children with special needs ages 3 - 5.

Each morning Karri is cooking breakfast for our students. Breakfast is an important way to start the day and many of our students meet in the cafeteria to enjoy breakfast today.

October 10th is International Walk and Bike to School Day. We meet at Murphy's on Alliance at 7:40 am and start walking or biking at 7:50 am. It's a great way to start the day!
