Our amazing second grade teacher, Mrs. Hurst, attended the California Math Council to the Far North (CMCFN) annual math conference on Saturday at part of her participation with the Humboldt Early Math Leadership Team (HEMLT). The guest speaker at this tear's conference was Dr. Jo Boaler.

Dr Jo Boaler is The Nomellini-Olivier Professor of Mathematics Education at Stanford University. She is also the faculty director of youcubed where the goal is to inspire, educate and empower teachers of mathematics-transforming the latest research on math into accessible and practical forms.

Mrs. Adams' project, "Freshen Up Our Classic Library With New Books," was funded by DonorsChoose and Chevron's Fuel for School Program!

Mrs. Adams created a DonorsChoose project to add high interest graphic novels and to replace beloved but worn out books in her classroom library. She also requested four new comfy floor seats for cozy reading spots. Her class is very excited and they can't wait for the new books!
